Appendix III

Example of a Therapeutic Return - Main Pay Scale Teacher

Full-time salary MPS point 4 = £17,844 per annum, £1,487 per month, £342.06 per week

Entitlement to sick pay = 75 days full pay followed by 75 days half pay (excluding weekends and school holidays)

(for the individual in this example)

First day of sickness 07.02.2000

Last day of full pay 19.06.2000

Last day of Statutory Sick Pay 23.08.2000

Last day of half pay 21.11.2000

With effect from 20.06.2000 the teacher will receive half pay plus Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)

With effect from 24.08.2000 the teacher will receive half pay and will be issued with an SSP1 form (incapacity benefit claim form)

With effect from 22.11.2000 the teacher will receive no pay.

EXAMPLE - Therapeutic return commences in the week beginning 04.09.2000
